Hello! I am from west Michigan, I'm 28, and I have a 2 year-old daughter. I joined this forum to learn more about Germanic people, seeing as I apparently am one. Because of my red hair, I guess, I always assumed I had Celtic ancestors, but my genealogical research has turned up mostly immigrants from Germanic countries. So I am very excited to find this forum! I actually found my first and only Celt this morning - an immigrant from North Ireland. So there's my hair for you.Otherwise I am part Dutch, English, German and Swiss.
So let's see, other than my family background, here's a few random facts about me:
-I love history, especially preserving and reenacting it. I like to cook recipes out of antique cookbooks, listen to period music and study historical dress. If I had no real life commitments and tons of money, I'd have a closet full of vintage clothes and reproductions.
-My favorite book ever is "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert.
-When I do get a chance to get out, I like long walks and bike rides, especially in the Fall.
-I don't really watch anime (although I've tried; everyone around me seems to love it), but Axis Powers Hetalia makes me smile.
Well, thanks for reading and looking forward to chatting with you all!
