    Hæl!

    Alright everyone.

Just thought I'd pop in with a hello and a little bit about myself.

I'm a 19 year old Lancastrian Englishman, rediculously pale skinned, dark haired, green/grey eyed, and having an exclusively 'British' and predominantly English ancestry for atleast 7 generations (having not gone any further than that with geneology).

I'm a student of Sociology and frequently conflict with the core politics of the subject to the point of question my continuing of the course.

I love hillwalking, I love real ale, I love folk music and traditional heavy metal, not too keen on the modern overproduced stuff, and I love Germanic mythologies, cultures and history.

Now I'm off to have a browse of the forum.

    I hope you're all well

Welcome here on Skadi forum, Cenwulf. Your nice and interesting introduction is highly appreciated. Well, if you don´t mind asking: Which folk music and traditional metal artists do you like?

If you have any question feel free to ask.

    Thanks

Well, I love the NWOBHM, doom and speed metal, early Tuetonic thrash and American thrash bands...

I don't know where to start! Witchfinder General, Angel Witch, Hellhammer, Onslaught, St. Vitus, a variety, I guess. I don't know, I love anything that sounds nice and crusty.

And for folk music, I'm currently listening to alot of an album called Havmandens Kys, by the Danish band Virelai (of which the name refers to a form of Medieval French verse in poetry and music...) whilst greatly anticipating the second installment of Wardruna's Runaljod trilogy, which I don't think is even under way yet

Incidentally, whilst speaking of Wardruna, I got interested in the Norwegian black metal scene during my time at school and through that, and having read alot of Tolkien as a younger lad, I became interested in my Germanic heritage.

I don't really listen to any black metal, as such, anymore though. I'm not sure why that is...
