Greets! I am interested in learning some new stuff. I know a lot about world issues and politics I hope to contribute to the atmosphere here on skadi.net.

My alias "Nordfrisk" is of reference to my origin and ethnic background. I am born in the Netherlands and lived throughout the region called "Friesland" or "Frisia" that incompasses the north of netherlands north of germany and parts of Danmark. We are a minority germanic ethnic group not represented by a nation and spread amongst other nations. Many of my people called "frisians" adopt there parent nation in which they live such me as a "Dutchman". However I prefer to be a "Friezian" who are more related to scandinavians then such as the other continental west germanic speaking germanic people. This is a little about my people. Hi fellow new person
Great to hear some more about the Friesians.
Having spent virtually most of my life outside Germany I wonder whether the Dutch Friesians are related to the "Frieslaender" along the north coast of Germany.
One of my favorite German comedians, Otto Waalkes harks from those parts.
I still have a giggle at my old Otto books.
However, not everybody found it funny, and some argued it perpetuated stereotypes of the Frieslaenders as somewhat off-beat. Mostly however, I don't think the older establishment appreciated the anarchic humour.
