Viede is an Acadian name I've had little luck finding more information about. The few results I found online seem to hint that it was originally a German name, Wiede. It's not uncommon for non-French names to enter Acadian families (such as Melançon, of Scottish origin--another name in my own family tree), and I was wondering if anyone knew of an origin and especially a meaning for either form of the name.
