Question What Subrace Are the Residents of York Of?

    http://forum.stirpes.net/physical-an...d-subrace.html

By "residents" I mean those whose families have lived there for at least a few hundred years.

    Are we Nordid or Palaeo-Atlantid/North-Atlantid?

Yorkshire in general doesn't have much atlantid influence. Nordid exists, but rarely in a pure form. Most Yorkshire folk are a blend of CM and nordid.

This picture I used in another thread really sums up what Yorkshire people look like:

People who look like that always have surnames like Micklethwaite

I've been to York plenty of times, but with all the tourists I'm never able to get that accurate an impression of what the locals look like. I didn't think they looked different from other parts of Yorkshire, though.

Looks like a typical group of high school girls in Midland, Texas.

Founding-stock Anglo-Saxon mostly, so I suppose it makes sense. Some german and a sprinkling of highland-scottish blood as well.

But mostly Anglo-Saxons from the colonial era.

I was kind of interested in this, because I always figured the number of people with English forefathers in the USA was relatively low. So, I looked at the US Census information for Midland county (maybe slightly inaccurate, but the numbers seemed relatively similar to Midland City so I figured it's probably good enough) to find out just how English it really is.

Well I couldn't find a full list of ancestries, just the most popular ones, which didn't amount to the proper number of inhabitants. But anyway, here were my findings:

    http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet...false&-_sse=on

The bottom table suggests 8,5% are 'English' in origin, and a further 9,9% are the ever racially ambiguous 'American' answer, which I assume eats up a few percent of people who are actually English in origin.

But since these statistics didn't seem to square up with the number of inhabitants in the county I figured that there must be something up.

Anyway, according to a second set of data, http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet...mat=&-_lang=en (which has different numbers I might add :p), 72.015 of 116.009 are non-hispanic whites (That is to say, 62 percent of the inhabitants are actually white, if you take Arabs, North Africans, and whatever other iffy groups to be white, which I believe the US census does).

So I dunno. When you said that people are mostly English did you mean of all the whites in the area, that most of them are English? And am I confusing Anglo-Saxon the 'Sub-Race' with Anglo-Saxon the 'Ethnicity' (English)? Because even out of only white people there ought to be more Germans than English, and even if you add up Welsh, Irish, Scots-Irish, and Scots they are around 1,5 times more populous than the English.

My only explanation is that everyone who wrote American is English :p. Oh yeah, or that the census is inaccurate. I think I have too much time on my hands, but I was also curious because they kind of remind me of Newfies Although blonder.

Yes, English is the proper answer for most of them.

You gotta understand, over here...people think if you look like everyone around you, dont have an "ethnic" or "german" last name, you are simply "American".

And if one single line of your family is Irish or Scottish...they jump all over that and claim it. Its pretty insane. Same goes for one line of French, German, etc etc. Nobody realizes they are English...cause practically everyone else is as well.

They're kinda right. 53 percent of the country as a whole still descend (to one degree or another) from the first four waves of British immigration prior to the Revolutionary war.

I just judge what ethnicity all these kids are by reading all the last names of the caucasians in our school annuals.

About 85 percent are of English or Lowland Scot extraction, with a few "McSomethings" or "O'thisandsuch" indicating some form of Insular Celtic ancestry, with the rest usually of some german surname.
