    Happy Birthday America

    Happy Birthday America

I would like to wish all of you a good 4Th of July.

I think it would be fun if you shared how you celebrate this Independence day/ weekend as to me it seems it has turned into a 3 or 4 day holiday.

I will start by telling we went and watched fireworks last night over the lake near our house. Today we are having a small cook out followed by a bonfire with just few friends a neighbors.

How do you spend the day? Do just you relax and take it easy? Do you go places to watch fireworks? Just share some of things you do and how you celebrate please.

please the purpose of this thread is not to debate American Independence so please do not make those kind of post here.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

Yes I would be proud of that to, but how do you celebrate this holiday?
That is the question of this thread.

Happy 4th of July to you to.

I always celebrate by watching the annual fireworks show that is put on by
the good folks of Mannford,Oklahoma.Citizens of our small town donate their
hard earned money to the cause and the Chamber of Commerce puts on one
heck of a show. The show is always on the 3rd of July so famalies can celebrate the following day.

I always go to a cook-out at my brother in laws house. Our family and friends
all pitch in so everybody,no matter their financial situation, has a good time.
    We charcoal hamburgers,hot dogs,rib eyes,t-bones and hot dogs.My mom
makes her potato salad, baked beans and red velvet cake.Oh and of course
we drink lots of beer and pop fireworks.

I love the Fourth of July!

I had a nice dinner with friends, then we went to a baseball game, which, however, was canceled because of rain. But everyone stayed for the fireworks and that was the best part of the day. "The star-spangled banner", "God bless America", "My country, 'tis of thee" playing and everybody singing right along - it was such a beautiful moment of many hearts united in a single feeling of love for our grand country. I love moments like that.

DSW & I went over to the Neighbors, across the valley, Sunday, for a cookout & pitchin. After dinner, the kids went swimming down in the pond. We talked awhile & then got out the guitars to pick & sing, a bit, mostly old folky or country songs.
When it got good & dark we started setting off the fireworks, out across the pond.
It was a pretty good evening.
