hey all! ive just joined today and its so exciting to find a place where i can come together with those of my own kind, it seems likea great place! The number of national socialists puts me off a bit but i accept all polital insights (except bleeding heart liberals lol they piss me off)
Anyways heres my question, is there any sort of way for me to figure out what tribal affiliation i have, ya know what am i? A teutones? a frissian? a Longobard? an Almanni, you know.....anyone got any ideas?
I could be wrong, but unless you can trace your ancestry back to the time when Germanics lived in tribes (and very few can), I would say no..

For example many Frisian people do not descent from the Frisians encountered by the Romans, but more from the Saxons, a league consisting of multiple tribes, that came to live like the Frisians, and took the name, or were identified as such. Part of the Frisians later merged with other groups, forming the Franks (league). This example has a time span of less than a thousand years, actually a couple of hundred.
I identify myself with the land of my ancestors, which is Frisian (bordering the Saxons), and the language I speak, which is Frankish (Dutch/Netherlandic is Lower-/Nether-Frankish).
If a black bull saddles a white cow you can get a black calf, a grey/spotted calf or a white calf. People are like that. Go for a wander around europe, leave your ego at home, see what tribal groups identify with you, and are you comfortable with that identity. That is who you are!
Can you trace your ancestry back to particular locations in Europe? I'll give you my own process of doing this as an example:
My mother's side can be traced back to Elizabethan East Anglia in England. During that time, just about everyone in East Anglia was English and their ancestors had been there since the Anglo-Saxon invasions. East Anglia was taken by the Angles during the invasion, hence I can be fairly certain that I'm part Angle.
My dad's side can be traced back to 15th century Wiltshire. Same general trends as above...anyone there at that time was most likely the offspring of the Anglo-Saxon invaders. Wiltshire was the heart of the Saxon lands, so I'm fairly certain I'm Saxon on my dad's side.
You can never be 100% certain, but you can get a pretty good idea.
