Germany were miles better. I was watching Sky Sports interviewing England fans after the game, and they all said the same. I hope the fans are starting to realise Cole(s), Terry, Gerrard, Lampard etc aren't as good as they're made out to be, as I'm tired of hearing about them.

If we're going to be crap even with the black players then I'd sooner they fielded eleven Robert Green types than the black/inner city types.

    Anyway congratulations Germany.

    Congratulations Germany, Great Victory.

I would much like to see Germany vs Argentina , could be one of the all time great matches.
Although the word "Commando" was wrongly used to describe all Boer soldiers, a commando was a unit formed from a particular district. None of the units was organized in regular companies, battalions or squadrons. The Boer commandos were individualists who were difficult to control, resented formal discipline or orders, and earned a British jibe that"every Boer was his own general".

Wembley goal in reverse ... the irony!

I actually think the Wembley goal was correct, at least most people seem to say so

Anyway, today Germany was better, so hopefully the Uruguayan referee won't be too haunted by the English tabloids

It's been proven that the goal did not cross the line.

What doesn't get mentioned much is the role of Karl-Heinz Schnellinger in the second German goal.

Despite the win, it's pretty clear what the future face of German soccer is. Could this be the last World Cup in which the German squad has a sizable number of German players?

This question is one that deservedly needs to be asked as we already have enough ethnics: Cacau, Boateng, Khedira, Özil,... - however it'd deserve to be doubly asked for the English squad. I was actually shocked throughout the tournament just how many ethnics are playing in the English team these days.

England and Italy are very similar. The English premiership league is full of foreign players. Inter Milan won the champions league with no Italian starting!

As for the goal tha wasn't, I think the English were not blaming the lineman but the head of Fifa for rejecting goal line/ video replay technology. They see it working great in rugby so its a bit stupid not to have it in soccer.

Is Ozil a German name? It has the 2 dots (called umlaut??) over the O.

They have that letter in Turkish as well. Özil is fully Turkish.

As for linesmen, it's not only up to FIFA but also IFAB, the organization that decide the rules for football. I think something they should do is to at least add extra referees to important games.
