Is it possible to get rid of the 30 sec time limit for searches now that Skadi has less traffic after the forum split?

Tolerance is a proof of distrust in one's own ideals. Friedrich Nietzsche
Come on, it's 30 seconds. Not 30 minutes.
But i'd like to se a more advanced search function, mostly when i search for something i get 15 pages.

"We Germans fear God, but nothing else in the world; and already that godliness is it, which let us love and foster peace."
- Otto von Bismarck, 1888
Is that feature an essential one of Skadi?
I find it pretty annoing and don't see a reason why it is made so.
Is there a way to take it out?

Although MySQL databases are fast and lightweight (on processor usage), a search that goes through 600.000+++ entries generates a lot of "garbage" (collected/processed, but not further used data) on MySQL level. The delay in search is to give the process time to clean up that garbage. Depending on the version of MySQL there could be more "threads" (jobs) that need to clean up their garbage, such as Cache or other internal functions.
It could probably be shortened, as 30 seconds are an eternity in terms of MySQL, but a complete removing of this delay might even cause the forum to crash, when searches write all their garbage into the Server (RAM)-cache and at the same time have to handle all the normal accessing of the page with often up to 900+ users, which in their own also generate garbage.
Yes, it's to ease the use on the server![]()
