Hello! I just found this site today as I research information about the ethnic German people from the Kikinda in Serbia. My mother, aunt, grandmother, and other relatives of my grandmother were on the last train of refugees out of Kikinda before the Russian army arrived. I've heard many stories from my mother and aunt while I was a small child. Now, I've tried to find answers to what happened and when to help my aunt fill in the blanks in her memory. I know we lost all other relatives in that town who did not leave that night. My mother and aunt were refugess for many years in Austria before they came to the United States. Their family name was Angner and my grandfather was Josef Angner. He died a few years earlier leaving my grandmother a widow with 2 young daughters.
I'm interested in any information anyone can provide and I'm also intested in reading through many of the other threads.
Linda
