I'd like to do an informal survey here that would help me with a project I'm undertaking, and I was therefore wondering if any of you could submit an answer or two.
I'm curious what occupations most people on this website would consider bottom of the barrel, dead-end, and unskilled for the likes of a middle-aged man. Therefore, I'm not looking for the typical part-time teenager jobs like flipping burgers, stocking shelves at the supermarket, or waxing cars down at the car wash. I'm looking for jobs that are dirty, physically demanding, that are generally considered manual labour type occupations where one would see a lot of middle aged people engaging in such employment. I thought originally of factory work, but most factories now these days are robotically computereised or they moved onto India, Romania, or China. I also thought of construction work too, but most of these occupations consist of skilled trades, not unskilled jobs. Help me out! Think of a few different answers and submit them. Remember, these occupations generally should be unskilled, low-status, dirty and physically demanding in one way or another. Thanks!
