I am a third generation American but have German ancestory on both sides. My father was a Hofman/Bittner and my mother was a Reiss/Edelmann ( all Christian members so name was Germanic). As far as I can trace all four families emigrated from the Augsberg/ Frederikshaven area. We show no Nordic traits but a lot of Celtic/Gaulic traits. I am very interested in learning about the political/social evolution and culture of the Bavarian region.
