I can say the same about your flag. I really like how the the west Norse flags all have the same colors but in different arrangements (talking about Norway, Iceland and Faroe islands).

I have 2 more flags ordered and on the way (hopefully). The first is the Prussian flag to honor my grandmother. The second one I special ordered, its the Scottish flag, but it has my family's clan badge on the left (on the blue) and on the right theres the clan badge of the more franchised clan that we're a sept of.

I also own the Norwegian flag (I reside in Norway for now, so I think it's at least a sign of respect), and, besides tiny flags on specific clothes (mainly flags of Germany in different periods), some other I'd rather not mention.

I have an English, Scottish, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish flag which I bought in their respective nations (partly to connect with my ancestry, and partly as a souvenir). I tried to buy a Dutch and German flag too, but couldn't find them anywhere except in dodgy tourist variety shops owned by Moroccans and Turks.

I have a contemporary German flag, and a Bavarian flag I hang in my bedroom.

My wife and I actually argued for about 30 minutes on it. Before the end of it, I asked "What's your f****** problem?!?!". She replied with "I'm not a racist!". She's a quarter German. Her mother was raised in Germany. Where the disconnect between pride and shame is I don't know, but I've been making progress in enlightening her on why she should be proud.

I stopped trying to convert people, I found they resented it. These days I only hope to inspire some to recognise their heritage by recognising my own. Be a role model, not a crank.
