    Pirates on Texas Border Lake

    http://apnews.myway.com/article/20100528/D9G02PU80.html

My family has lakehouses on the massive (and beautiful) Lake Amistad upriver from Lake Falcon a ways.

Think we're gonna go ahead and arm the ski-boats this summer.

    War is coming, gentlemen.

Texans sure do take a lot of abuse to be armed to the teeth. Shows their good nature, I reckon.

Through subtle persuasion, most have been led to believe that if they only fight for their immediate family as well as the land they own then this is all they have to worry about.
In the outskirts surrounding my home town you will see numerous signs posted at the gates of private properties cautioning the trespasser that they will most definitely be shot on site, questions asked afterward.
Would it be so wrong to propose that these sort of warnings should be posted along our borders as well?

This desire to protect what is theirs is not inherently selfish behavior. It is because they have not been taught that the defense of their personal territory can only be possible if the borders of the state/country that their homes are located within are equally well defended.

The upshot of this if measures are not taken will only make the taking of our state that much easier because the individual and unorganized homeowner is busy protecting his own interests. The definition of "Family" should also be extended to that of the very state they live in, and defend it also as if they were protecting their wife, daughter or mother. They should be just as outraged at this threat as they would toward their own homes. "You attack my state, you attack me".

Once they can be convinced to think of Texas as an extended member of their family then you will see more attempts to prevent a breach. The possibility of this happening is frighteningly real. And once the enemies have achieved this all they will have to do is march to each individual home that is known to be armed-and-ready and "pacify" one after the other. If the homeowner refuses they will just kill them, and many will certainly understand the deadly potential of the situation and hand over their weapons without a single shot being fired.
