    Obama's Watergate?

Joe Sestak, the man who defeated Arlen Spector for the Democratic nomination for the US Senate, alleges that he was offered the position of Secretary of the Navy by the Obama administration if he would drop out of the senate race & let Spector have the nomination. Offering a government job in return for this favor is a felony. Only Obama can send a nomination fore the position of Secretary of the Navy to the Senate for confirmation, so he would have to ok the offer of the job to anyone. Senate Republicans are requesting a special prosecutor to investigate.

The Obama administration’s apparent attempt to bribe Rep. Joe Sestak with a plum federal appointment if he dropped out of the race against Sen. Arlen Specter is a simmering scandal that’s threatening to boil over.

Republicans, and even some Democrats, want to know more about Sestak’s claim that the White House tried — and failed — for force him out of the race with the job offer.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, seven GOP members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday demanded an investigation into whether or not the bribe offer violated Federal law.

The letter said Sestak’s claim is “very serious and, if true, suggest a possible violation of various federal criminal laws intended to safeguard our political process from the taint of bribes and political machine manipulation.”

Republican Senators Jeff Sessions, Jon Kyl, Lindsey Graham, Tom Coburn, Chuck Grassley, John Cornyn and Orrin Hatch signed the letter.

Over in the House, GOP Rep. Darrell Issa sent our an email to supporters calling the situation: “The Sestak Affair — Obama’s Watergate?”

Republicans aren’t the only ones raising questions. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democratic leader, said both Sestak and the White House need to come clean on the bribe.

“I actually think the White House and Joe Sestak should be a little more detailed and put this behind them,” Rendell said in a Wednesday press conference.

Senate Majority Dick Durbin also said the White House needs to provide more details.

But the White House refuses to do so.

However it goes this will be an issue in the November elections. It is unlikely a Democratic controlled Congress will take any serious action. If the Republicans take back the house in November, and make serious gains in the Senate, expect a special prosecutor to be appointed next January.

White House: Sestak was offered "unpaid advisory position".

At the urging of the Obama White House, former President Bill Clinton asked Rep. Joe Sestak whether he would abandon his plans to challenge Sen. Arlen Specter in a Pennsylvania Democratic primary if given an unpaid, advisory position, according to a White House counsel report issued Friday morning.

Clinton made the inquiries on behalf of Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel last summer, as Sestak began his challenge of Specter, a former Republican who had switched parties, White House Counsel Bob Bauer wrote. Obama publicly backed Specter's reelection bid over Sestak, who remained in the primary and defeated the veteran senator this month.

Bauer concluded that nothing improper had taken place and that "allegations of improper conduct rest on factual errors and lack a basis in the law." Contrary to allegations by many conservative pundits, Bauer found that Sestak had not been offered the position of secretary of the Navy. Bauer concluded that discussions about "alternatives" to a Senate campaign by Sestake were proper.

The White Counsel is Obama's personal attorney in his capacity as POTUS. In essence he has investigated himself & found no wrong doing. And Bill Clinton is involved. This is getting better by the minute.

This could have huge implications for Obama. They clearly broke the law.I did
some digging and here are the laws that where broke-

    1. 18 U.S.C. Section 600--Promise of employment or other benefit for political activity
    2. 18 U.S.C. Section 201--Bribery of public official
    3. 18. U.S.C. Section 211--Acceptance or solicitation to obtain appointive public office
    4. February 2010-Congressman Sestak publicly stated that a White House Official offered him a federal job in an effort to end his campaign in Pennsylvania Senate Primary.
    5. May 2010--Again, Sestak publicly stated that he was offered a job by the White House in exchange for NOT continuing his primary challenge in Pennsylvania.
    6. May 24, 2010--David Axelord, White House Advisor, stated that Sestak's claims, if true, would "constitute a serious breach of the law.'
    7. Evidence exists that Mr. Sestak was offered a FEDERAL job (his own words) as an inducement for him to leave the Pennsylvania Senate race.

The evidence at issue here would be fully admissible at any trial or legal proceeding. Firsthand witness testimony of an unlawful offer fully complies with the federal hearsay rules because such an offer constitutes both a verbal act and an admission.

What!? the golden child, mixed up in illegal activity? I refuse to believe it.

(if the sarcasm was less than apparent, my apologies)

I doubt anything will come of it, but will cheer out loud if impeachment proceedings begin. "High crimes and misdemeanors," ladies and gentlemen, means that this is definitely within the scope. Fingers crossed.

He deserves more than he will maybe get for all of the stupid things and irresponsible spending he's done.
