I agree 100%. I thought he was just too smug and smarmy but I have an innate distrust over all politicians anyway, but some of the BNP's policies never seemed to gel with my own.

My main misgiving with this 3-year BNP leadership contest was the creation of warring factions within the party. Now I'm reading stuff like this ...

.. and realising that my worst fears are already materialising!

    It all sounds very childish.

I think Simon Darby might make a better leader. I voted for him. The 'worst' thing the msm could find on him was the fact that some Italians saluted him in a funny way
“It was intended that when Newspeak had been adopted once and for all and Oldspeak forgotten, a heretical thought should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words”

It seems to me that this whole 'BNP leadership challenge' is a sad joke, I can't believe anyone is actually taking it seriously. Butler is simply a grumpy rouge who wants to take over the party but has very, very little support; and from what I've read of numerous BNP-blogs - a lot of contempt.

I wouldn't be surprised if he fails to get even 5% of the vote, if the leader does change (which is unlikely) it will be Barnbrook who wins.

Taking this further, InvaderNat, I'd have to say in all honesty that this incident just about sums up the last 50 years of UK Nationalism!

It's just been one long series of fall-outs and squabbles. Sometimes due to infiltrators who have deliberately sown discord, but just as often due to individual egos and personality clashes.

If we just take the past few months, we've had the BNP website pulled almost on the eve of the General Election due to some tantrum (from what I can gather) by Simon Bennett and we've even had Griffin's colleague Mark Collett threatening to kill him!! Going back slightly further and the former "Excalibur Merchandise" staff were sacked amidst accusations of them siphoning off the funds for themselves, and we can all remember the long-running Griffin v. Tyndall saga, which ran for years and only ended with the death of the latter.

It's very sad but disunity has almost become an inherent part of Nationalism, certainly as far as this country is concerned!

Electorally the BNP are the only show in town for nationalism. This latest squabble is unfortunate, but not as bad as previous crises over the last decade. Hopefully they can come through all this. They've got bouncebackabilty - there doesn't seem to be serious talk of splits, most activists know this is a non starter. I just wish that the alledged mismanagement and money-wasting would stop.
