We
do specifically stress that the "Questions about Germanics" is not to be used for "profiling questions" and could thus leave your question standing, however I have decided to reply to your enquiry since your question appears to be of genuine curiosity, and for future reference.
No, we are not restricted to people of German extraction, but we do essentially restrict membership to those fully or predominantly Germanics in ancestry; id est typically those of German (Austrian, Swiss, etc.), Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Faroese, English, Scottish, Dutch/Flemish, etc. descent.
Non-Arab Middle-Eastern heritage is disallowed and has always been, non-Germanic European heritage is also generally disallowed, but might be
tolerated on equitable grounds if of
minor importance. You may see one or the other non-Germanic European around, but these are rare remnants from a time when membership was not restricted to Germanics, we permitted the most pro-Germanic of those old registrations to continue their posting venture here until further notice. This is moot point for any new registration though.
This rule of "for Germanics only" may seem a little "extreme" and close-minded to some, but like many other folks around the globe we prefer to be amongst our own kind, where we know what to expect and around whom we feel it is a safe environment to discuss all matters of pertinence (and sometimes impertinence). Furthermore, we do believe that things important to Germanics should primarily be discussed amongst Germanics, you simply wouldn't have much business on let's say an Arab preservation forum if you're not an Arab yourself.
If you wish to register but are not sure if you fulfil the membership, you can use the Contact Us forum, a link to which you can find at the bottom of the index page. The Administration, and if necessary other active Staff, will then convene to judge upon the particular case and you should hear back from the Administration within a few days.
Hope this answers your question.
