Poll: Are You a Right or Left Brain Oriented Type?

    http://onemansblog.com/2009/01/26/ri...ft-brain-test/
Here is a visual test that purports to determine if you are oriented towards the right or left-side of the brain. I made it as a poll, to see if there is any pattern to which brain orientation the members of Skadi have.

The page shows a graphic of a moving dancer. Look at the graphic, do you see her moving clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Clockwise = right side of brain
Counter-clockwise = left side of brain

Which direction did you see the dancer move? And does it fit with your personality?

    LEFT BRAIN PERSONALITY
    uses logic
    detail oriented
    facts rule
    words and language
    present and past
    math and science
    can comprehend
    knowing
    acknowledges
    order/pattern perception
    knows object name
    reality based
    forms strategies
    practical
    safe

    RIGHT BRAIN PERSONALITY
    uses feeling
    “big picture” oriented
    imagination rules
    symbols and images
    present and future
    philosophy & religion
    can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
    believes
    appreciates
    spatial perception
    knows object function
    fantasy based
    presents possibilities
    impetuous
    risk taking

Certain people seem to be able to see the graphic in both directions, so I added an option for that. I saw clockwise only. Right brain traits fit fairly well with my type.

I... Can't get it to go counter-clockwise regardless of how hard I try. My friend see's it clockwise, but can get it to go counter-clockwise, too...

I think my 'personality' portrays aspects of both right and left brain functions. The same can most likely be said for anybody, though. It suprised me to read that most people would see the dancer rotate counter-clockwise, mind.

    Interesting.

I see it going clockwise. However I do notice that there is a small reflection on the floor that goes in the other direction.

Interesting that several here can focus differently. I could only see clockwise, no matter how I try to focus differently. One friend could only see anticlock no matter how hard she tried.

    Both directions too.

From the list above I'd say I'm definetly right brained.

Right, and only right. but I don't think the personality traits are accurate of me.

Opened it again and now I can only see it counter-clockwise. :S

When I looked at the animation for the first time, I only saw her spinning counter-clockwise, so I voted for that. I think most traits associated the so-called "Left Brain Personality" fit me quite well. However, when I looked at the animation again, after imagining her turning the other way around, I saw that as well.

I'm sorry if I spoiled your poll by that

I have a very rare condition, affecting only one person in half a million people. When I was six doctors discovered that the right half of my brain is overdeveloped and the other half underdeveloped.

Words and language is the only component of typical left brain activity that I feel safe with, which has more to do with a strong memory than a natural feel for language, it's all part of the condition.

I constantly balance on the edge of utter stupidity and clumsiness - and striking gold.
