    Australia Day Shepard's Pie!, Wallaby & Bacon

    Last week i Was bored so i minced up some Wallaby and some Bacon
    this is about 1.5kg's wallaby and 300g of Bacon


    and the son and i decided to make Shepard's pie for tea today(Australia day) in my opinion its easy like stew you cant get it wrong

    Carrot,cauliflower,broccoli,onion and some garlic chucked in some tomato soup and the evil fake potato laugh.gif
    bung it all together and it goes in the oven for 30min@180 wink.gif





    as it was when ready!





    and now the family is full beer.gif i washed mine down with a Dark ale biggrin.gif

    anyone else have a nice recipe

    Being in Australia at the moment I'm going to try kangeroo meat tomorrow or the day after, its like no other animal i've ever eaten so i'm excited as to how its going to taste. Can anyone recommend a suitabale dish?

    You can buy Kangaroo sausage's and other cuts from the supermarket's

    Its a very dry meat so slow moist type's of cooking are best Roasted in an oven bag is good

    once you have had Roo. Wallaby is the same just not as strong tasting

    In the end we had kangeroo rump steaks, cooked rare with peppercorn sauce, sweet mash potato and a good scooner of Boag's Wizard Smith. Went down a treat! We have a few cuts left over and I'll try and mince some sausages out of them.
