    Merry Christmas!

...Or perhaps given the subject of this message board I should say Yule. I have recently been fortunate enough to take part in Jul festivities with my extended family here in Sweden, and I hope you all had a fine Christmas as well.

Let me start off by saying that this seems to be a wonderful forum that much hard work has gone into and which has many interesting and wonderful members. I particularly like the rule against retardism, a fine neologism if I ever heard one. I must also compliment the staff on the many beautiful avatars available, as well as the lovely little location flags.

With that out of the way, I am a 24 year old single male from the United States, or more specifically I rent a house in an affluent northern suburb of Chicago. My parents are Swedish immigrants, making me a first generation American. Culturally I feel more for Columbia than Svea, but I do have quite a bit of affinity for the "old country" and am fluent in Swedish. I selected "nordid" as my subrace, though I am more familiar with Coon's taxonomy where I am Hallstatt Nordic.

My profession is what is known as a sales engineer, which is effectively a more technical and scientific angle of selling. I am blessed enough to be able to work at home--or from wherever I want. Outside of work I occupy my time with outdoor activities, sports (both watching and playing), brewing beer, reading (mostly but not exclusively non-fiction), fitness, and hunting. I am one of those rare people who is intensively curious about everything and am therefore happy to learn about and discuss whatever comes my way.

Politically the label I tend to use is "reactionary" because it immediately lets everyone know I am on the far right without pigeonholing or exposing myself. As can be expected of such a person I am a nationalist, racialist, nordicist, traditionalist, and a producerist. I oppose democracy and long for a more heroic society, but oppose fascism and other political traditions which support totalitarianism and radical centralization of political authority. I reject the philosophical underpinnings of the American Declaration of Independence and Constitution, though have a broadly positive view of American history up until the early 20th century.

I hope that amounts to a satisfactory discussion and look forward to many positive discussions with you all.

Welcome here, Thorfinnsson. It's safe to say Merry Christmas here if you want although many peoples are Heathen and celebrate Yule, but there are Christian members as well. Recently I made a thread on this theme and many members posted it doesn't offend them, even the Heathen ones. Here the thread: Do You Regard "Happy Holidays" As a Politically Correct Greeting?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time.

Merry Christmas/Yule, and a Happy New Year.

Siebenbürgerin, thanks for your thoughtful reply. I was not in fact considering the religious aspect of the holiday, but rather the cultural origins of Christmas in the ancient Germanic holiday of Yule. Most of Christendom is now post-Christian (at least in theistic terms), but Christmas celebrations continue in our lands. If Christmas greetings were unwelcome here I would most likely leave, and I have added my thoughts on the matter to your thread.

God jul och god fortsättning Thorfinnsson. I am pleased to see that a Swede who was born overseas has adopted such sound values, which is a real novelty these days I think it is safe to say . Anyways welcome to the forum .
