A complaint has been laid with the South African Human Rights Commission against Afrikaner Weerstansdbeweging (AWB) Leader Eugene Terre Blanche over a comment he made in Pretoria over the weekend.
Terre Blanche reportedly pointed at the statue of Chief Tshwane at the old Pretoria City Hall and referred to him as ‘an apie’, meaning a monkey.
Communications official Panyaza Lesufi said he was deeply offended.
“I was deeply hurt and this morning it was with a heavy heart that I had to approach the Human Rights Commission and lay this complaint. I really believe that people like Terre Blanche have no room in our new found democracy,” he said.
