    National Literary Traditions

Well I've been reading on a larger scale than I ever have before and I've since developed a very certain taste as to what I appreciate. I have read books from many nations, but right now I seem to focus on the writings of Swedish, and Germans.

Now there could be any number of reasons for this, the most obvious is that I am a child of both nations.

What about you? Are you drawn to a certain nations' literature?

I have been made fun of in the past because my reading preferences are more for Irish literature than any other nationality.
To me there really does seem to be an almost mystical quality about Irish prose that literature from other countries do not seem to possess.
I support the notion that people tend to be more inclined toward writers who share similar ethnic backgrounds with their own.
Would someone who is born and raised a Swede have a better, even instinctual appreciation for Swedish literature than one who is born and raised in the Irish tradition?
