I dust my pc once every 1-2 months
Note: i am not responsible for any damages, i have been inside many pc's without anything ever being damaged, but anything can happen, even more if you never done this.
Switch your pc off, unhook all cables, put your pc somewhere where you can get a look inside, on a table etc, avoid static electricity by touching something made of metal like the case of your PC when its switched off or your heating system that is usually made of metal, you will get rid of any static electricity in yourself, or you can put a special anti-static electricity glove on, i have opened pc's many times without a glove and nothing bad ever happened, also, do not wear anything metal, rings, watch etc when you go inside your pc.
I have three brushes, small, middle and big, unused and clean to move away dust, be careful not to break anything and if possible do not touch anything with your fingers, just use your brushes, when most thick dust is away you can start blowing the rest away with your mouth, do not spit lol!, i usually get my vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust that goes into the air when i blow, make sure the vacuum cleaner and the pc have good distance because the motor of the vacuum cleaner might disturb your electronic parts, and do not put the end of the vacuum cleaner inside your pc, you might hit something.
If you blow against the CPU fan, video card fan and case fans make sure they do not move, hold them in place with your brush, its not that bad if they move but i usually do this, and if you are going to put your vacuum cleaner on the outside of your pc where the case fans have their openings then always hold them in place because then they would spin too fast.
Why dust your pc ?
-Dust will rise the temperature of your pc, blocking your fans, making a dust layer on your electronics, the higher the temperature of your pc the slower it will work and the faster it will die.
-Smell, if dust stays long enough you will begin to smell it.
-Hygienic
-Sound, dust when thick enough can disturb the normal airflow so much that it might create noises.
Or you can do it like this if you have some air blower thing or a can of suppressed air, make sure none of your fans move, put a clean stick between the blades or something like that.
He makes a few mistakes but i place this video to show you can use that airthing too.
