Yes, Belarus is still the whitest country in Europe, but the situation could change in no time if the Moscow-sponsored Soviet-style government of Belarus will remain in power for the next 5 – 10 years.

Because of the policies of president Lukashenko Belarus virtually is a mini-USSR. Lukashenko and Co. even resurrected the Leninist Communist Youth organization (KOMSOMOL) – Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM). That government-sponsored organization advises people from the third world countries to settle in Belarus because “unlike in Russia and Ukraine, there are no racist gangs here”.

They even issued member cards to the immigrants from India! This is crazy!

There is a correlation here. There are no racists gangs in Belorus because it is an all-White Slavic nation! Russia & Ukraine have racial/ethnic gangs as a response to the ethnic situations in those countries.

Persons living in monoracial & ethnic societies are the most naive when it comes to the realities of biracial/ethnic or multiracial/ethnic societies. For example in pre-Civil War America, the New England cultural area (including Upstate New York & the Great Lakes region) was pro-Abolitionist & supported equal rights for Negroes in the Reconstruction Era, though hardly any Negroes lived in the area. At the same time though they were having ethnic conflicts with the Irish.

I'm assuming the immigrants the Belarus government is trying to attract are (allegedly) high skills immigrants? West Asians, South Asians, East Asians? They are overrated in the skills department, those allowed into the US under the H-1 Visa program have a reputation of not living up to the hype over their alleged skills, the only advantage being their extremely low wages& much of the time that does not make up for the extremely poor quality of their work.

The situation in Belarus shows that communist governments are not preservationist but statist, interested primarily in their own survival. Would the DDR, if it still existed, pursue the same strategy? I don't think the pro-diversity liberal democracies have much influence on Belarussian domestic policies as it seems to be firmly in the orbit of Russia which is so often held up as the antithesis of the multicultural West.

There will be no coloured people going to Belarus anyway, so in a sense this is just to "white wash" Belarus' vest on immigration.

EDIT. I mean, it is hilarious on many levels.

1. The international press will print that photo. Well, how many immigrants know the Cyrillic alphabet in general and White Russian in particular?

2. Half the country is still no go zone because of Chernobyl.

3. The immigration in the former USSR as part of international solidarity and such is not exactly on the same scale as economical immigration.

4. Economically, who wanted to go to Belarus?

(It might however be that Belarus is hiring international experts and is telling its citizens to shower them in flowers and such...)

So the government that is sponsored by Moscow is putting out anti-Russian messages (complete with posters) about there being no racist gangs like they have in Russia???

It doesn't make a lot of sense, or is there a bit more to this?

Either way, it's like watching a nation sign its own death warrant
