    Hello!

Hello, everyone. My name is Amanda and I am an utter Germanophile. I have German ancestry, as well as some Norwegian and Swedish ancestry (and some other stuff too...I'm a real American mutt), but I mainly identify with my German heritage. I have always loved Germany. Its history and culture fascinate me and I love the language as well. I'd like to move there someday, if possible.

My favorite part of Germany is Prussia, and I've always wanted to see the Prussians return to their homeland someday, and help them, if I can.

I've been looking for a forum like this for a long time. I'm glad to be here and I hope I will be a welcome addition to the community.

Hello and welcome to Skadi Forum! Hope you like it here. As a native German its always stimulating for me to see that many "Colonials" of that heritage are not shamed at that but take special pride in that ancestry.

Mind me asking, how substantial your Polish, French and Irish ancestries are, and how much identification you feel with that part of your heritage. Just curious.

If you have any questions on your part - always feel free to ask, that's what we're here for. We don't bite.

I certainly do take special pride in it. It annoys the heck out of my family (I'm the only one in my family who identifies with her german heritage).

Well, I do have at least an eighth of Polish and French in me, but I don't identify with those nationalities at all, as I am not very fond of those countries. But I am extremely stubborn, so I think that's probably my Polish heritage coming out

I only have a tiny little bit of Irish in me (like, 1/64th, I think), but I have an Irish last name, and a terrible Irish temper Because of the last name, my family was raised to identify as Irish, and it has only been in recent years that I've identified myself with my German heritage instead.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!
