    What Did Churchill Really Think About Immigration?

    Just before he gave up the Premiership in 1955 Mr Churchill told Spectator owner and editor, Ian Gilmour, that immigration “is the most important subject facing this country, but I cannot get any of my ministers to take any notice.”

    I'm not a big fan of Churchill but if he genuinely tried to keep England White he has my respect for this at least.

    It doesn't surprise me to hear that his colleagues in the Tory "Toffs" party didn't take the issue seriously back then. They still don't now, unless there are votes in it!
