For me it would be only English but I do have some grasp of French(took it in high school) and Swedish.

3, Maltese, Italiano, English. (Pretty normal in Malta)
Primary is English. I can understand some Spanish, but my pronounciation is atrocious. I also speak jive and ebonics fluently, but our school teachers here in the US speak with it so I guess they're considered common English now. I put down 1 language. The Europeans will speak 3-6 languages, which is very impressive. I normally justify my lack of languages easily: If Vermont and New Jersey each spoke a different language then I would probably know 3 languages fluently instead of just my semi fluent English. I really have no reason to learn another language in my daily life besides wanting to better myself.
German, English (9 years at school), Latin (5 years at school), French (3 years at school).
Man ſei Held oder Heiliger. In der Mitte liegt nicht die Weisheit, ſondern die Alltäglichkeit.
SPENGLER
English, Afrikaans (both fluent in writing and speaking).
Dutch (can understand perfectly, but if I attempt to speak/write myself I make grammatical errors. Vocabularywise there is not problem).
I understand bits of any Germanic language, most notably German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian. I have a teeny-weeny knowledge of Magyar, and I understand/speak quite a bit of Zulu/Swazi.![]()
English and French. I'm studying Hungarian. I know a little bit of Dutch, German, Russian and Korean.
English and at one time very good German that is now really rusty. I want to pick up on it and learn it fleuently. I also want to learn Sicilian and Greek. I can distinguish any Romance or Germanic language when I see them. The Slavonic languages are hard to, but Russian and Polish I can tell the difference. I took Latin 1 in 10th grade and can no longer speak Latin what so ever. I can remember various vocabulary words though. One more interesting fact is I know at least one word in quite a bit of languages. For instance I can count to ten in a few languages. I know some italian phrases and such as well as others. Must I go on? I think I am done explaining.![]()
So for the Poll I picked two.
Proficient in two, English and Turkish. Can understand spoken and written French to an extent -as my father and my stepmom speak French with each other- but cannot speak. Very basic German from high school which I will be remedying starting next week. Can read and write Russian fluently and can speak very basically. Took 2 months of Italian which I have greatly forgotten by now. Beginner's knowledge of Latin grammar and usage and lots of cuss words (and food names) in Serbian.![]()
Doesn't amount to much, really.![]()
Romanian, French, English, good command German and Italian, some Hungarian, some Spanish, very few Latin and some words in Polish, Czech, Dutch and Portuguese. I read only and understand few Russian and Bulgarian.
That's why I voted for 5.
