That depends on the shows, I watch (when I watch which is not much) documentaries (which are usually good enough), some news and political shows for what they're thinking, some Japanese anime (Detective Conan), and maybe stuff like the Simpsons which humourously criticizes many elements of society.

Even if you are a wise individual and choose not to huff spray paint yourself, you or a loved one can still be murdered by some mental case who did. No man is an island. And some spoiled fag-boy who learned how to be the man he is today from watching Will and Grace will someday be making foreign policy...
Most people think as they are trained to think, and most people make a majority.

We have to live in the same world with the people who grew up relating to these characters as "normal." What do you suppose that world will be like?
Okay, that was the first time I had seen this show, although I had heard about it. My big question is why do they have a picture of what looks like a rune stone in the background with the image of Odin on it?

I don't think the actors in that show are normal, if they were normal they would not make a sitcom about them. It was pure poisen though that they are telling people to behave like that and it is just fine.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

A sitcom portraying the "gay lifestyle" as "normal" and inoffensive and harmless to society. The social engineers in the US television networks are at it again.

What ever happened to the good old days in American television when tobacco companies would sponsor kids shows and cartoons, like R. J. Reynolds used to sponsor "The Flintstones" in the early '60s and Fred and Wilma would light up a Winston before every episode.

Degenerating culture. Decadent societies. Decay! Decay! Decay! The disorder and insanity can only increase. We need a revolution!

Tobacco is unhealthy and deadly. Would you object and consider it "degenerate" if they were snorting some cocaine or injecting some heroin?

I'm satisfied that most people can see something is facetious when they read or hear it.

Ahhhhh, come on! I was simply being facetious. I've been misinterpreted/misunderstood once more!

I'm really going to have to provide a "facetious comment disclaimer" on some of my posts or they come up with a smilicon that will do the job. On the other hand, pointing out a remark is meant facetiously spoils the effect. Subtlety, like brevity, is the soul of facetious humour. I think there is something of a culture gap in play here. However, as long as most people can see that I am writing something facetiously when I do, that is good enough for me.

Seriously, how many of you out there can see that it was meant facetiously and not seriously and literally? Here read it again and have a think about it.

The morbid irony of all this is that we'll have another dark age and these times will no doubt be looked back upon as the 'Golden Age'.

I'd agree with that. It really shows how we are running out of time.

So is alcohol, so is bacon, so is driving a car. Life was made for living, not for pathologically trying to maximise its duration.

The comparison with cocaine and heroin is nonsense, since those actually, y'know, prevent you from living your life and remove you from reality. I've never come to the end of a good Cohiba and suddenly gotten the urge to commit suicide or the belief that I'm God.
