    Shamanic Apex of Mesolithic Britain

    Dear One and All,

I know its hard to believe but I have never done this before (old dog, new tricks). Never the less I have found this forum fascinating and deeply desire participating in it. I have to admit that when I first googled forums that pertained to this subject I found many that were intimidating and down right rude. Finding Skadi was a relief!

I have been fortunate to cram in about two lives worth of living in this particular life. Much of it was consumed by family and creating a living just like most people. But I did manage to become a professional author/artist/ethnobotanist/master gardener as well. I am entirely self-educated.

It was my privilege to spend decades visiting among indigenous Americans and was honored by the abundance of knowledge they so generously shared with me. Not only did they teach me how to behave and how to perceive the universe, my friends and family there instilled in me a deep desire to know my ancestors as they themselves knew their own. I have spent 30 years researching the Mesolithic people of the British Isles and have written extensively about that era. Its seems a bit boring on the surface except that I found that shamanism at that time had reached an undeniable apex. It is study that hopefully will never end.

It seems rude as well for me to drone on and on about the subject I love above all else. So I will say only, thanks for having me.

    Thank you for your interest

    Dear Rightpath,

Thanks for the interest in my work. Yes, I have written several books. The first two I ended up rolling into one manuscript entitled Ancestral Airs. Its a bit hefty, 700 pages (a winter read). The third is not in print yet but hopefully soon. It deals with the shamanic applications of more than 400 species of plants, indigenous to the British Isles and is the companion volumn to Ancestral Airs. I have another book rattling around in my head. The research is completed but I haven't started it yet. I am pleased and relieved that the first reviews have surfaced and they are good (Lupa at Pagan Book Reviews and John Billingsley editor at Northern Earth). Tell me about your life's work.
