So nothing changed.
I think it is a supremely pathetic commentary that people have created and vote for a party simply because they want free downloads. This is the sum total of their lives and aspirations, apparently, to be free to copy a freaking mp3.
.. and more people care about this than care about the future of their people.
Many potential nationalists probably voted for the Pirate Party. In Sweden they did did a survey ahead of the Euro election that showed that a great majority of the Pirate Party voters were sympathetic with nationalists, even though these Pirate Parties are very liberal.
This is not about 'free mp3 downloads', but about a freely accessible internet, so that your opinion is not solely shaped by the official media, but that you are free to access any information that you wish to access and can shape your opinion based on that.Originally Posted by Huginn ok Muninn

And besides a pro your own people stance this is the most important thing to ensure for the future. Without alternative news and information resources there will be no pro-your-own people movement whatsoever, because people will not even know that their own people is endangered due to the constant 'all-is-fine-bs' in the official medias.

I have to back up the Pirate Party, as well.
Certainly it attracts all types of people (from news seakers to perverts), but at least it is working to keep information out of the hands of the government. This helps all of us, so we cannot reasonably be against it.
While a lot might be idiots who just want free mp3s, they are also supporting free press.
Update:
The CDU leads with about 34%, in some regions they gained a landslide victory of 50% of the votes
SPD has the most losses, they got only 23% with losing about 11% of their support.
The biggest winners so far are FDP with 14,5%, winning about 5% and the Left (mainly in east Germany) with now about 12% (about +3,5% compared to 2005). Greens could also raise their share, reaching over 10%.
Other parties all in all gained about 6% of all votes (21 parties), including NPD, REPs, DVU and the Pirates.
Congratulations Miss Tschörmänie
And welcome back: the tiger duck coalition

The SPD looks to have had more support in the East, with the Left Party and the Greens behind. What's with all this pro-leftist tendency? Does it come from dissatisfaction with the CDU?
Good question. The Left has Gregor Gysi, and many east Germans are generally dissatisfied with Germany and how it is for them 20 years after re-unification.Originally Posted by Swiss Cheese
Germany is still a splitted country, with the east loosing in all sectors, employment, those who have work earn significantly less, they get lesser welfare etc.
But The Left also was formed by former SPD politician Oscar Lafontaine, who thought the SPD isnt 'left' (in the sense of their former domains like family and social system etc) enough anymore and has lost her profile with Gerhard Schröder. Lafontaine was the last SPD politician with a face, and his leaving had a devastating effect on the party's support.
So when there have been support for the SPD in the east, it goes now to The Left. But many regions there are CDU too.
The SPD has lost a lot (it seems in fact almost all) electoral districts to the CDU, except from their traditional region Ruhrpott, a bit Niedersachsen and Hessen, and some other minor regions. The rest of the card (the spiegel link in Hauke's post) of western Germany is now black (CDU)
Here is another link which shows the votes for all parties

I'm disappointed with any election that does not restore the Kaiser.
