Dutch tv journalist Stan Storimans was killed during the testing of a new type of rocket by the Russian army in Georgia in 2008. This is the conclusion of a tv documentary to be screened on Wednesday, exactly a year after Storimans' death, reports Trouw.

The documentary was made by Storimans' colleague Jeroen Akkermans who survived the attack.

According to Akkermans, Storimans was killed by a new type of rocket which was filled with cluster munition.

In the documentary the German rocket expert Robert Schmucker claims that the Iskander SS-26 rocket was being tested in war conditions so that the market price of the new weapon could be established, reports Trouw.

The seven meter rocket which weighed 4,600 kilos, was aimed at Gori to scare the inhabitants, according to the documentary.

Storimans (39) died on August 12 last year while covering the conflict between Russian and Georgian troops in Gori.

Th documentary will be shown on RTL 4.
