I'm curious because he looks a good bit like my dad.

Appearance of aging can be detrimental or at least not optimal for classification; from times of the individual in question's age's around mid-20s to mid-40s is best age range for images of best classification range.
huge image of George
Very isles looking: but maybe troenderish. Bruenn-keltic-nordoid. Some keltic/dinaric (but in this case keltic) shape to nose. Area around eyes bruenn, and gracile (nordoid). Well maybe Troender being the intermediate of a nordid bruenn (am I correct on this?) Troender a good pick.
Very difficult to tell due to the following reasons:
- The pictures show the subject at quite a progressed age
- No profile view
- Beard
- Shadow on fourth picture
My first rough guess was: a gracilised variety within the (north-) alpinid spectrum still showing the cromagnid basis. However, on a photograph showing him at a younger age he seems to represent more the Keltic Nordid type:

With one word, I would classify him as Nordoid. That's all I can say.
Also, if you are depending on the insight of others to classify at all and are not able to classify one yourself with any level of certainty; don't depend on saying a subjective resemblance in your own opinion to George Carlin would potentially correlate at all to what your father's classification may or may not be.
I get a strong Anglo-Saxon vibe from him. Definitely nordoid at any rate. Decent comedian. Loved how he kept floating towards conservative tendencies as he aged even though he seemed not to be entirely aware of it.
