America, Where You Can Be A Federal Criminal And Not Even Know It

Federal law now criminalizes activities that the average person would never dream would land him in prison. Consequently, every year, thousands of upstanding, responsible Americans run afoul of some incomprehensible federal law and end up serving time in federal prison.
With all the attention that's been paid lately to long federal sentences for drug offenders, it's surprising that a far more troubling phenomenon has barely hit the media's radar screen. Every year, thousands of upstanding, responsible Americans run afoul of some incomprehensible federal law or regulation and end up serving time in federal prison.
What is especially disturbing is that it could happen to anyone at all -- and it has.
We should applaud Reps. Bobby Scott (D-Va.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), then, for holding a bipartisan hearing today to examine how federal law can make a criminal out of anyone, for even the most mundane conduct.
Federal law in particular now criminalizes entire categories of activities that the average person would never dream would land him in prison. This is an inevitable result of the fact that the criminal law is no longer restricted to punishing inherently wrongful conduct -- such as murder, rape, robbery, and the like.

    Exactly!
Welcome to the USSA, one of the Sad Ironies of the cold war was even after the Communist went down in the Russia, they moved to their other favorite hang out. Washington DC, all expenses paid by the Bill Clinton administration. So now Russia is a semi free state and the US is a Trotskyite Bolshevism.

International Marxist are like the Aliens in the movie Alien, they just wont DIE!

We are no longer for the People, of the People , by the People. It seems like we are for the banks, of the elites, by the media.

Just about everything is illegal but most of law exists in its enforcement. The personal judgements of neighbors, law enforcement, judges, jurys etc. Just watch a simple episode of cops to know what I mean.

Get a book of weird laws. What kind of cop will enforce some law that you can't eat ice cream on saturday? Nobody. The only time these laws come into play is when they know you've done something but can't prove it or are out to get you. Then they get you on some bogus trumped up charge like jay walking. For example what's that mafia boss that they could never prove he did anything so they got him for tax evasion? And generally there is a system of checks so people can't really abuse the system too much. That is if a cop arrests you for something bogus a judge will dismiss it or jury etc.

Though overall the whole system is nonsense. No human being could read all the laws on the books even if he spent his whole life studying them. Furthermore there's so many you can find a lot of contradictions, loop holes etc. Again the personal judgement of of the judge, jury, cop, peers etc. involved is often weighed in.

Generally if no one has a problem with what you do, even if its against the law it wont be enforced. For example marijuana is against the law. Yet a lot of areas in the U.S. at least half the population uses it. There's not much enforcement. There's just no reason to take someone in when they look obviously high. However the law may be used as a way to pick up trouble makers, or a source of revenue for the department (siezing vehicles). Obviously if its used in public it would be out of line and punished. Major dealers who are making too much money off it are taken down etc.

I worked in a gas station in the city before and I told a cop about someone dealing drugs in the parking lot and he could care less. On the other hand say you are acting like an idiot or just somebody they don't like- well then if they find weed on you they can take you in. Though they do bust the major dealers. One example is some train cop arrested me for running across the train tracks. The local police said they would never arrest anybody for such a nonsense offence unless they didn't like the person and he was giving them an attitude. The train cop went after me because a lot of crackheads were getting run over by trains so the train company hired the cop to get people. Strange thing that train tracks and the area around them are private property but they are bought and paid for with tax money. Anyway...
