The carbonic acid will damage the enamel, making cavities more likely etc.

Plain water is the best choice.

Not usually, it tends to make me sick : ) Do others here have that problem? Occasionally it's nice, but iced tea is so much better!

Yes, I drink a lot of pop, but I'm trying to quit so I don't feel disgusting when I start working out again, I'll probably begin drinking green tea, because caffeine itself is good for working out and your metabolism.

For the amount you spend on a can of harmful chemical soda garbage, you can buy a can of cheap beer. But yeah on occasion I induldge in a can of soda. I feel extremely guilty afterwards though.

I don't like fizzy drinks. They don't quench my thirst. In fact some make me even more thirsty. I avoid them and drink water, tea, coffee, milk, depending on time of the day and reason.

I drink diet soda all the time. It's almost like calorie free candy to me. Anyone who drinks soda should remember that both diet soda and regular soda contain acids that wear away tooth enamel. If you consume acidic foods, wait fifteen minutes before brushing your teeth or you'll wear away your tooth enamel. If you can't wait that long, rinse with a solution of baking soda and water before brushing.

Yes, almost all diet sodas also contain an evil ingredient known as 'aspartame'. Here is a passage I quoted earlier on in the thread:

Aspartame is an excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic. Because it's an actual chemical poison it causes polychemical sensitivity syndrome or MCS, so even if victims get off this toxin they often think they are allergic to other things, react to genetically engineered products, and synthetic sweeteners which are toxins themselves like Sucralose (Splenda). These are toxic, not allergic reactions.
Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills on aspartame and MSG, and Health & Nutrition Secrets To Save Your Life, described the toxic effects of aspartame: "Aspartame, an L aspartyl L-phenylalanine methyl ester, is composed of two amino acids, aspartate and phenylalanine, linked by methanol. Inside the gastrointestinal tract, especially in the stomach, it's broken down into its constituent components. In some instance the dipeptide is lysed within the cells of the gut. As a consequence the methanol is rapidly absorbed and distributed throughout the tissues of the body. Within the tissues, substantial amounts of methanol's two metabolic breakdown products (formaldehyde and formic acid) have been shown to accumulate in many tissues." If ever a toxin completely defiled the body it's aspartame. Dr. Blaylock elaborated on the breakdown products of formaldehyde and formic acid, which have been shown in several important studies to be extremely toxic to tissues in very small doses. "A study by Trocho, Pardo and co-workers demonstrated following aspartame ingestion, significant amounts of formaldehyde accumulate in the tissues. Formaldehyde is known to bind strongly to proteins and nucleic acids, forming adducts that are extremely difficult to eliminate through normal metabolic pathways. In this study, they demonstrated labeled methanol (as formaldehyde) accumulated in high concentrations in the liver (50%) and in lower, but substantial, concentrations in the kidney, adipose tissue, brain and retina. Within the cell, they found large amounts located within the DNA. It was interesting to note these doses were lower than that used in toxicity studies. Previous studies have shown that very high doses of aspartame may not cause acute symptomalogy. This study indicates the damage may necessitate longer periods of time to manifest itself, and that the eventual effects can be quite deleterious."
It is nothing more than watered-down embalming fluid
