    What's Your Birthrune?

But to cut a long story short: This is how you generate your birth rune:

    Your birthday: 3. June 1978 makes 3+6+1978 = 1987
Then you makle a cross sum out of the result that needs to be smaller as 25.
    1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25 = 2 + 5 = 7
    Your birth numer is 7.
    The seventh rune is GEBO

    Alternative Names
    Anglo-Friesian/Germanic: Thurisaz
    Norse (Viking): Thurs
    Old English: Thorn
    Other Names/Spellings: Thuith, Thurisa, Thurisar,
    Thorunisaz, Thyth

    Pronunciation: Thoor-ee-sawz

    Translation:
Giant, monster, devil. A thorn. The god Thor, or his hammer Mjöllnir.

    Characteristics:
Threats from persons of power or position. Resist temptations which offer reward through dishonesty or trickery. Heed the omen of dishonour or physical harm.

The energy of Thurisaz can be used for good or for chaos. It represents the forces of the human psyche, including anger and lust. The thorn is a symbolic weapon. It can pierce, stab or tear. But it can also be protective, like a thorny hedge. Thurisaz may also signify a stroke of luck, but is more often a warning that your luck is running out.

    How to Interpret "Thurisaz"

Thurisaz is the sacrifice that one must make in order to make progress in life. It is the very essence of discipline. This rune references the pain that must be endured for the reward that lies at its end. It may be likened to a long period of study that lies before the start of a satisfying career. A painful lesson learned. Monetary hardship, a temporary separation, or anything that requires a personal sacrifice to "get through" to the other side of the situation.

Thursiaz represents harsh outside forces which stand in opposition -- particularly natural forces or forces on a larger scale.

On the positive side, Thurisaz also signifies discipline and the necessity of change: Things that are happening are meant to happen. They are part of the grand cycle of life and nature. Those things that we are forced to endure will pave the way for good things in the future.

Literal Meanings of "Kenaz": Torch, Ulcer

    Description:

Kenaz represents the brilliant flame of divine inspiration: Rebirth through sacrifice -- Creation through fire. This is the rune of the artisan, and often will frequently appear in readings for those engaged in artistic ventures or seeking creative solutions. New ideas shine brightly in the darkness. What was once gloomy is now brilliantly lit by the introduction of creativity, light-giving energy and radiant warmth. The torch of Kenaz represents illumination and an immense store of divine knowledge.

    How to Interpret "Kenaz"

A solution to a long-standing issue. Clarification will come after a long struggle -- the solution will seem simple after the long struggle that has led up to it. Inspiration and the light of knowledge will pave the way for success in the current venture.

A sudden insight or enlightenment. A moment is coming when someone will realize their purpose, their entire reason for being. Something (or someone) will light the way to this path.

Enlightenment and clarity do not come without sacrifice. There is often a price to pay for solutions and knowledge. It will not be grievous but it will require that the individual give something up that is precious to them. Knowledge, like the apple of the book of Genesis, may carry a steep cost.

    Inverted Meaning:

A flame is being darkened somewhere in the individual's life. A source of inspiration is petering out. The individual should take care that they are not giving up on their dreams -- which could lead to a cooling of their life spark and spiritual suffering. Do not be so quick to let go of a dream.

    Interesting thread

    Mine is "Raidho"

    Alternative Names
    Anglo-Friesian/Germanic: Raido
    Norse (Viking): Reid
    Old English: Rad
Other Names/Spellings: Radh, Raidha, Raidho, Raidu, Reda, Reidr, Reidh, Reidthr

    Pronunciation: Rye-doh

English Letter Equivalent: R as in red.

    Translation: Riding, a vehicle

Meaning: A journey, arrival, departure. Union or re-union. Events concerning travel or vehicles.

    Gemstone: chrysophase

    Characteristics:
Travel is indicated. New friends or old friends return. Jobs connected with transport or overseas locations.

Raido can mean wheel, ride, or travel, but it also has a deeper meaning. Riding a horse includes both movement and direction. A journey can be long and arduous, requiring planning, foresight, determination, and fortitude. Raido can therefore refer to the journey of life (the wheel of life), or to a spiritual quest. Raido might also mean transport or communication, such as delivering or receiving a message.

    Personal Interpretation
Recognize that everything comes in cycles and that by following them you will progress quickly and efficiently. Align your lifestyle to the seasons and honor the turning of the year. Embrace hard times knowing that the harder it is now, the easier it will get in the future. Everything has its opposite, and challenges bring equal and opposite rewards.

    Reverse
Stagnation, lack of movement or change. Isolation. Mechanical breakdown or failure to arrive. A missed deadline.

    Converse
Meetings take an unexpected course. A secret mission. Home-based jobs. An enemy disguised as a friend.

    Runic Number: 5

    Color: Bright Red

    Element: Air

    Polarity: Male

    Associated gods: Ing, Nerthus

    Astrological Correspondence: Sagittarius

The Rune Poem: Verse V - Raido
For every hero in the hall is Harness soft
And very hard for him who sits astride
    A stout steed
    Over miles of road.

Literal Meanings of "Raidho": Riding, Journey, Wagon, Chariot

    Description:

Raidho represents the overall life-path of a person. The message of the rune of Raidho is that the stops along the way are less important here than the journey itself. According to Norse mythology, the course of a life is determined by three weaving sisters called the "Norns", who live at the base of the World Tree. The three sisters weave the fates of all mankind. The first sister, Urdr ('becoming'), spins the yarn of each individual's fate. The second, Verdandi ('being'), measures the yarn. The third, Skuld ('that to come') cuts the yarn. Like the "three fates" in Greek mythology, these sisters hold sway over the lives of all living things. The Norns are also tasked with the tending of the roots of the World Tree with water from the well of Wyrd.

The rune Raidho reminds us that specific events are largely beyond our control. Fate is not something that we can ever know or truly understand -- but something that must be respected, for it influences us from beyond our reach.

    How to Interpret "Raidho"

In a reading, a physical journey is likely when Raidho appears. This journey will likely be successful and will lead to a important changes in one's life. A move or a career change is foretold. New experiences and insights await us over the horizon, and will shape the course of our lives.

As with the lesson of the three Norns, the appearance of Raidho also suggests that all efforts to influence the situation (one way of the other) will likely fail. The hands of fate are at work here -- fortunately the indication is largely positive.

Raidho may also represent a change in lifestyle -- usually for the better.

At a literal level, Raidho may represent women, sisters or a career path.

    Inverted Meaning:

Journeys may often just be detours off of one's primary path, not part of our primary life journey. Moves and career changes can also mean disruptions in personal relationships, and these must be maintained in order to remain a whole person. Failure to move on will cause stunted growth.

Hmm, the end result is 11. That means my birthrune is Isa, or I should continue and add 1 + 1? Or that only happens if the result is a number higher than 24?

I'm wondering, how are we supposed to read the results? Isa is for ice, cold, freezing, does this mean peoples with Isa as a birth rune are designed to have a cold temperament?

On a sidenote, it says the associated goddess for this rune is Verdandi.

Mine is also Hagaliz, same as Chlodovech. Let's spread some 'wrath and destruction' (and 'building something better out of the ashes' )

    Pronunciation: Har-ghawl-arz

    English Letter Equivalent
    H as in HAT.

    Translation
    Hail

    Meaning
Weather, damaging natural forces. Disruption. Interference.

    ...

    Color: Light Blue

    Element: Ice (i.e. Water)

    Polarity: Female

    Associated gods: Urd, Heimdall

    Astrological Correspondence: Aquarius

    Tarot Talk by Leila Vey
The Tower is an obvious card to associate with Hagalaz. It is about the sudden collapse of everything we know, about destruction, and being rocked right out of one's comfort zone.

Its energy forces us to begin again and (hopefully) build something better out of the ashes. Disruption, interference, natural (and man-made) disasters, challenges and sudden changes in fortune all link Hagalaz with The Tower.

The Rune Poem: Verse IX Hagalaz
Hail is the whitest of grain
    Whirled from heaven's height,
The wind hurls it in showers
    Into water then it turns.

I think you only add the end result if the number is 25 or more (as in the original post). Otherwise, the highest number you could get would be only be 18 with two digits .
