I use homemade old fashioned lye soap with cornmeal in it. The cornmeal scrubs your skin and helps clean you.

I don't think the liquid soaps clean you as well as hard soap does. Keep in mind not all bar soap is hard.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

Soap, what is that?! I know no such thing!! If our ancient Germanic ancestors needed no soap, why should we?

Whenever I had the rotten luck when I was small to be dumped in my grandmother's charmingly brown and pastel house, I was treated to the evening tortures: a scrubbing with a celadon block and a towel so crispy it was like burnt toast being scraped across my face. Ever since I've been solidsapophobic, and I stick to the liquid stuff.

If my skin gleamed redly enough afterwards to satisfy her, I'd be given a bowl (or a plate, as she says, inexplicably) of salted porridge and a spoonful of malt extract from a sticky jar I'm sure came into her possession circa 1967, and doubtless fed my mum on many a skin-scouring night too.

I use Finnish Pin Tar soap that I get from Finland.Very good smell and it keeps your skin from drying out and bugs off of you .Also as I shower every day can be used without drying out your skin.

For showering I alternate and use both liquid and solid soap.
I use Ivory bar soap and Dove bar soap, for sensitive skin.
My skin is allergic to carbomer so I can't use the Dove liquid soap, only the bar soap.
The liquid soap I use is from Bath & Body Works, called "eucalyptus spearmint shea & vitamin E shower gel". I bought a lot of it last year when they had a sale. It's usually about $13 a bottle. They are/were phasing out the scent. I love the scent. Sometimes I wash my hair with it instead of shampoo.
