Pravda: American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

What scares me is the government is buying up the businesses like GM. I sort of think this whole financial crisis (which is entirely created by the banks/government) was created as an exuse to sieze private industry. This is communism. Every time it has been tried it has shown that government ownership of industry is less efficient and productive than private ownership except in a few extreme neccessary cases (like utilities). Now the government is going to tell GM how to run their business and GM reports to the government who is a 60% owner of the company? This coupled with a huge increase in income redistribution and invasive laws is very communist like. In fact here locally they even have been installing cameras at all the street corners to constantly watch people. If you run a red light or do some you shouldn't you are on camera and being watched and monitored 24/7. If you go inside a building almost all the businesses also have cameras. The only place to go to be off camera is maybe a rural area or inside your home.

Another reason for the economic problems is to increase enlistment in the military. As people loose their jobs they happily enlist to fight in more of Israel's wars.

Printing of money will lead to inflation but we've had a lot of deflation via the loss value in people's homes, bank accounts and stock market. It's not a huge deal. You will see a repeat of the high inflation they saw around 1980. Of course the US is slowly going downhill but Obama hasn't really done a lot to change it either way. He's maybe digging the hole slightly faster than past presidents. All the policies are essentially the same as Bush and the reason is that the president is just a puppet for the people who are really in control.

Interesting quote from the 1930 Southern Agrarians' compilation of essays I'll Take My Stand: The South And the Agrarian Tradition .

... the true Socialists or Communists ... are the Industrialists themselves. They would have the government set up an ecomomic super-organization, which in turn would become the government. We therefore look upon the Communist menace as a menace indeed, but not as a Red one; because it is simply according to the blind drift of our indistrial develpoment to expect in America at last much the same economic system as that imposed by violence upon Russia in 1917.
