Yeah, the stuff in newspapers is merely for entertainment. They have a list of catch phrases for the month or week and maybe a random slot maschine choses a set, then a writer puts it into the frame for print. If newspapers have an astrologer, it's one for the publishing house who produces these superficial catch phrases en masse for all its newpapers, or they bought a thick pack of them 20 years ago. But maybe it's just the secretary girl who once bought a 5€ book and tinkers something together. They're totally worthless at any rate.

It's quite something else to go yourself to a lady who's experienced and who hands you a 10 pages+ work of ascendents, influences and whatnot. In contrast to the newspaper stuff they will also never point to the future besides rough tendencies which are already present and working on you. They're not going to tell you you'll marry in 5 months or other such nonsense^^

Many people though, upon receiving a serious horoscope without future predictions, are quite disappointed, because they think horoscopes are like the hand readers on fairs. Guess that's also why the newspaper stuff serves the desire for that "thrill" to "know the future", and why these things are still an asked-for feature in yellow press papers.

No, I almost never read it. And if I ever do, I take it with a grain of salt.
