I like most anything fantasy, scifi, historical, or artistic, though it absolutely must be eurocentric. I won't watch anything that isn't. Not interested in "diversity." I mostly have to hide away in older films, from an age past. Some newer things are tolerable, but rarely. Lord of the Rings and so on. TV is completely out of the question, I simply can't stand it.

I especially like historical fiction, which is partly based on true aspects or events of the time period. Some examples would be Hrafninn flygur and I skugga hrafnsins (The Raven Flies and In the Shadow of the Raven), those two are part of a trilogy sort of, the third one being Hviti vikingurinn (The White Viking) which I haven't seen yet. I think the last one was remade recently as well. The Seventh Seal also comes to mind, though I will pretty much watch anything in either Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or Icelandic, since I am always actively learning more and more.

Science Fiction, since it as a genre can capture and explore many ideas which few others can. Take for example the cult classic, Blade Runner which explores concepts like the duality of man, and definition of what defines man.

One must confess that Historical films are also quite good, though one seldom finds accurate historical films; most of which use the term "inspired by" and then exploit creative license for entertainment.

The monologue from Blade Runner is one of my favorites. The scene illustrates that the protagonist appreciates the humanity of the non human, and that the irony that he couldn't recognize such in himself.

The soliloquy resonates, a beautiful scene and I recommend the audience here views the film. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion; I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die."

I’m a movie buff. I watch any type of movies. However the film must be good but that is a matter of taste. I prefer the film genre Comedy, Action, Horror, Thriller, Science Fiction, Western, Historical/Epic, Documentary, Adventure, Crime and several TV-Serial. I really hate ahistorical movies such as about the World War and the Germans. It serves only to make money. Something like this is terrible.

    Historical and Epic

I love the landcape in different ages and different worlds. I like the costumes, especially the Victorian male clothing is so attractive. Hence my favourite the StarWars, or the Anime Black Lagoon, the Sherlock Holmes, etc, because they bring us to the different, but maybe more dangerous world.

"Remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus,"or that virtue "was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."

Me too. I really prefer old school horror films, even those from the 80's are better than modern films. I happen to like low budget horrors.
Check out the rare 70's "Blind Dead" series of films.
(It doesn't matter how old the song is, I won't stop liking it).
