STORMTROOPERS YOUNG AND OLD - A Song (1933)
translated by Constantin von Hoffmeister
Stormtroopers young and old,
ready the weapons in your hands
because the horrible Jew is on the loose
in the German Fatherland!
There was a young stormtrooper,
by destiny chosen
to leave his wife and child,
leave them all alone...
Old hags miserably cry,
young girls sadly sob -
so move along, my dear darling,
we will not see each other again.
One-hundred-and-ten bullets around the shoulder strapped,
his rifle loaded and ready,
and with a hand grenade in his fist -
Bolsheviks, come hither...
When the stormtrooper ventures into the fire,
he is full of joyous courage,
and when the Jewish blood drips from the knife,
he is filled with vengeful glee!
Together with Adolf Hitler,
as stormtroopers we join the battle.
Either we are going to win
or we will die a noble death for the German Fatherland.
