    Deleted On-topic Posts Without Explanation

    http://forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=119129&page=2

I would like to know why triedandtru's and my posts were deleted in this thread despite being on topic. A pm or something when this happens would be nice.

Perhaps you should have said this in a pm, if you read the rules closely, you will notice two that may have prevented you from posting your complaint publicly:

    27. The Staff members are the enforcers of the rules, and enforce them at their own discretion. The Staff possesses full editorial discretion to remove, move, edit, split, merge, change, stick, unstick, open, close, or amend posts, threads, and attachments of Members for purposes of rule enforcement, categorization, and to manage their readability, accessibility, or availability. Threads, posts and attachments that violate the rules can be removed, moved, or edited by Staff without notice.

    And more importantly:

    30. If you have been warned, infracted, or your post or threads fell under activity of editorial Staff discretion, and you disagree with the measure, you can address the Member of Staff who has set the disciplinary measure. He shall fairly hear your appeal and all arguments you cited in your favor, and will, having discussed the issue with Staff and benevolently appreciated their input and concerns, either revoke, mitigate, or uphold, but never tighten the measure, with additional requirements and conditions set forth or not. All such complaints that do not follow these proceedings, in particular all those that are posted publicly, shall be simply deleted and ignored, at best tightening the measures.

I just don't want to see you get in any trouble. I'm sure if the appropriate staff members are contacted, they will make fair adjustments.

Thanks, but there is no way for me to know who did this, so I would not know whom to message.

Ah yes, we sometimes forget that members can't see posts of theirs which have been deleted. I see your point in not knowing with whom to inquire and taking the obvious other route and might find themselves bewildered.

Either way, the moderator who deleted the respective posts in question is Hauke Haien, it is to him you should address your inquiry, and if applicable he will restore your posts, or offer a conclusive reason as to why they were being deleted.

In the meantime, bear with us as I inquire about ways to remedy this. I seem to recall that it is technically possible that a PM is generated upon deletion of a post, along with who deleted it, but am not sure whether this requires a modification, in which case one would have to determine whether such modification exists for 3.6.11 (which we are running on currently).

    Hope this helps.

-Auch ich verspüre Demut / Vor dem alten Geiste der Ahnen / Wird es mir vergönnt sein / Gen Walhalla aufzufahren?-

    Rule# 30

It"s very possible that I haven't read far enough into the Help and Suggestions Section to solve my problem. I received a warning and had a post deleted. If I choose to respond to this warning, I may do so by Personel Message to the Moderator in question...in attempting to do so, I'm informed that I don't have enough posts to send a personel message. So do I just bring my total posts up to standards, or is there another solution?

    Thank you for your time.

Lack of response to rule #30 dilemma

Being a new member I understand being moderated, to the point of having a post deleted and a warning issued almost immediately upon posting. However, when a legitimate question arises, in the Help and Suggestions Section, it lies there virtually Un-Moderated? See prior Post...

Thank you, in advance, for your time.

There's another solution. You can contact staff if you follow this link here, it's at the bottom of the home page.
