If you only visit touristy areas of London. i.e. Central London. Then you wont see that many Non-Whites. Since Central London is heavily European, American, Canadian, Australian, tourists and financial business types. You tend to see more Chinese/Orientals/Arabs in Central London also (all arguably fair skin in contrast to standard UK minorities). If you want to really 'appreciate' the Non-White population in London. You'll have to travel to outer boroughs, such as Brent, Ealing, Harrow in NW London, Tower Hamlets, Newham in East London, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark in South London, and Hackney in North London.
So some ethnic sights, to see what the real london is like (where 90% of Londoners live). Try:
Take Tube to:
Wembley Central (Bakerloo line) - Or any stop from
Harrow & Wealdstone to around
Kilburn Park
Take Tube to:
Alperton (Piccadily line) - Or any stop from
Rayners Lane to around
Acton Town
Take Tube to:
Northolt (Central line) - Or any stop from
South Ruislip to
North Acton
(that basically gives you an idea of what NW London is like - Lots of Indians/Sri lankans and West Indians/Somalis. But also many working class white british and irish people - When you get there time how long it takes for you to see more than 10 interracial couples, or better yet how long it takes for you to see more than 10 white women with Mixed race children

)
To get to Southall (which is about as impressive as Wembley Central - Just more punjabi than gujarati/tamil/west indian/somali), you have to take a bus from stations such as Ealing Broadway, Greenford, or Northolt.
I'm not sure of the exact stations for South London, and East London. But District line to West Ham to East Ham will impress (lots of Bangladeshis and Africans there). And Northern/Victoria line to stations around Stockwell (lots of West Indians and West Africans there).
Essentially London works like three concentric rings:
In the Center is the White/Olive (Tourists/Business people/Chinese Students/Wealthy Arabs/Americans/Europeans/Latins). - This is postcard London (the only London tourists know - all the stations are underground, the streets are crowded, Pidgeons everywhere etc.)
Outside this is the Black/Brown mass. Essentially Greater London. Minus a few boroughs at the extremes. This is what is responsible for the major demographic trends of London. Where all the Non-White/White mixing goes on, in a working class level. If you're arriving at Heathrow, then you're in Black/Brown London, and not too far from Southall (hence all the punjabi workers). The whites in this ring, are less diverse, mostly White British, Irish, and Eastern European mass migrants.
Further out. We have typical regular metro London, which is basically the whole South East of England. More working class types, with cities averaging 90% White, 10% non-white, and a few ethnic cities like Slough or Luton. These areas pretty much mirror Outer London, that is if you grew up in Outer London, then these places in the South East will remind you of your childhood days when most people were typical white working class types, and Non-Whites were a small but rapidly growing minority. In 20-30 years time, the South East will look like Outer London.
