    East Germanic Influence

I wonder how big the Eastern Germanic influence (Gothic, Vandalic, Burgundian, etc...)is on modern Germanic Europe. And with that I mean mainly genealogical influence.

How much modern German(ic)s have an Eastern forefather ? Where are those persons mainly situated ? How large is the chance that native people of Bornholm, Usindom and Rügen are descendants of a Eastern Germanic tribe ? Are their any dialects possible influenced by an Eastern Germanic tongue ?

Oddly enough, most East Germanic influences can ironically be found as substrate in Romance countries, having adapted to Vulgar Latin, except Franks and Lombards are of West Germanic and Normans of North Germanic origins. Although one would be tempted to look at Prussia and Livonia as heirs of their legacies, those are West Germanic.

CORRECTION: Livonia certainly had a North Germanic basis by virtue of Denmark.
