Might is so much more than pure personal physical brawn. If it were only personal physical strength, the neanderthals would have outcompeted homo sapiens.

Might is POWER, power is intellegence, passion, the ability to create, power is will.

Might is the intellegence, commitement and will to develop and use superior weapons and tactics. The individual carries the momentum of the might of his people. The mighty person is of mighty origins, the weak person of weak origins. Weak people cannot invent, engineer, mass produce and effectively use firearms against mighty people. They can copy but the copy will invariably be weaker than the real thing.

The mightiest individual will never put himself into the position of being at gunpoint of the weakest.

Pointless to confuse might with stupidity.

    Well said and true!

I totally agree with the idea that Might is simply what works. Part of this is having something that Might works to accomplish. That means being able to define a goal.

My personal morality is that Right is what works to accomplish metagenerational goals, the progress of ones line and people. These need to be the goals of the individual. What is right is the ethical code, what is true is ones commitment to that code. I would argue that this is also the primal germanic morality.

Ragnar, in a way, has it right, but reversed. Right is Might. Do things the right way (commit to a life of Right Action) and you will be mighty. Likewise for entire civilizations.

I like that. Right makes might. I'll have to use that. Also heard a Japanese folk saying "learn well and improve daily" seemed to be applicable to Asatru.

I agree with you, but recent events in my life have led me to follow the example of Ref the Sly (Saga), namely patience, cunning, and ruthlessness.
This combination will scare the Hel out of Christians, (I've found out), but it works for me. Wait for your opportunity, don't strike unless you know you can win, and destroy your enemy.

I assume you refer to the "Riddle of Steel" - Steel isn't strong, flesh is stronger.
My take is that in the short term, steel is stronger, but in the long term flesh is stronger, provided there is the will.

Nope. It's something like: to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and here the lamentations of the women!

    Very good Conan.

That was my first thought, (you don't have to believe me). but I let a friend suggest otherwise. My ex-gyđia used to like to talk about the 'lamentation of the women'! I think by nature, women are more ruthless than men, Hávamál says their hearts were shaped on a spinning wheel...(Hávamál 84), but that's probably another topic...
