But still, I wouldnt consider it as the healthiest.

I love doing my own salads, fruit salads with red fruits (which you even find in mediterranean area, not even in shops), fresh fish, salmon, grain bread, milk, own recipes of sweets made at home, ...
    What, you don't like meat?

I love meat. But not in the mediterranean style. Testicles of bull and bull tail...and blabla.

I eat meat as steaks, grills and mixed with potatoes...though they say never mix protein with glucides its something I love but I control, so I try to eat more like meat-vegetables, potatoes-salads..

I notice that I hate when sauces are mixed into dishes.

For example I may order a gyros and ask for no sauce; it's the same with burgers. I like to eat food like steaks, potatoes, ribs, etc. without any dips.

I also don't order soda and prefer there to be just water for my thirst needs.

The Scandinavian diet is indeed very healthy. We're rather famous for our health obsession, and it shows, since you'll see less fat people in Scandinavia than anywhere else in Europe.

Although the Swedish meatballs are world-famous, our "traditional diet" is mostly fish-based and light. We also drink a lot of milk and eat a sour yoghurt called filmjölk, which is a very healthy breakfast. We eat a lot of berries too. The Norwegian diet is similar to ours, but they share with the Japanese a love of fish and a distaste of all things fatty and greasy.

Surströmming is the only part of our diet that I'm actively ashamed of.

Yes, the Spanish idea of food is very meat-heavy and rather disgusting to me. Although you shouldn't write off all foods from "Latin" countries, since the French and Italian food is among the best.

Greece also has the best junk food on the planet, gyros. Although you should bear in mind that it's junk food, not to be consumed on a regular basis by anyone healthy.

What about grains? Are you ok with that?

We Scandinavians were the people who got agriculture the latest I believe, perhaps we are better suited to a hunter-gatherer diet.

    Tired Frutti di Mare

I grew up by the sea and ate lots of fish and shrimp or prawns. A high fish oil diet supposed to help balance moods naturally during the cold darker winter months. I live off of nuts and berries, but I can gain weight easily if I munch on nuts all day for a healthy snack. Cheese, even over select meats, is the most consumed food item in our house along with other dairy products. I lessen the dark rye and heavy grain breads with age and miss those extra servings to this day. Oatmeal is also a very hearty breakfast and fills the stomach better than the flake-style cereal products. I think a cup of berry or green antioxidant tea daily also helps with natural relaxation.

Be careful not to drink green tea after iron-rich meals as the iron will bind to the green tea components and will cancel out the benefits of both nutrients. I say that because I knew someone who used to drink a cup of green tea after every meal thinking it was good for him. Bad idea...
