Maps Imagine Post-War Europe Without Germany

During World War II, some fringe thinkers advocated for the total dissolution of Germany. They left us with maps that depict an alternate Europe where Germany ceded all land to its victorious neighbors.

In 1941, Theodore Kaufman self-published his controversial manifesto Germany Must Perish!, which advocated, among other things, the sterilizations of Germans and dismemberment of the German state, insisting that Germany be divided up and absorbed by its neighboring countries. Ironically, Kaufman’s work enjoyed its greatest exposure from the Nazis themselves. Nazi propaganda claimed that Kaufman’s book was not the fever dream of a single man, but the Allies’ actual plan for Germany. The Nazis reprinted Kaufman’s speculative map on fliers next to pictures of Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Josef Stalin, hoping to scare the German people with visions of a future where their country, culture, and legacy would be eradicated.

The map at the top, which was commissioned for a magazine, is more detailed in its vision of alternate Europe. After the elimination of the German state, it suggests that German geographical names would be translated into the language of their adoptive country. Polish Berlin and Dresden become Berolinsk and Drezno. In the hands of the Netherlands, Cologne and Essen are renamed Keulen and Eeten. And French Mannheim and Aachen become Foyer-d’Homme and Aix-la-Chapelle.

That is a disgusting picture. The words of that jew kaufman dont surprise me either.I think the so called allies have in a sense succeeded to a certain extent in getting rid of German culture.by the looks of it with mass immigration they are trying to kill off and get rid of German people as well.A Europe without Germany is not a Europe.Germany is one of the Financial,Cultural backbones of Europe. Then again I think that if Germany wasnt so strong that their wouldnt be the problem of foreigners moving into Germany. All I care about is what is best for Germany..

There is only one good thing about this one picture: Austria receives Bavaria. Whilst the rest of Germany be suffering, at least we would have been allowed our Greater Bajuvarian Empire. I'm actually liking that facet of it. Add South Tyrol, Znaim a.d. Thaya and Marburg a.d. Drau to this and I'm happy. I'm still dreaming of "Greater Bavaria" anyway as we speak.

As to everything else - a disturbing herald of the inferiority complex of those nations who envied Germany throughout: the French, the Czechs and the Poles. As the only other two changes to the map besides "Greater Bavaria" which has some substantive background is the cession of much of the Low German areas to the Netherlands and Denmark.

But then again, we already knew this anyway: The French called for Germany to disappear already at Versailles.

I think France and Holland will take the first ranks when it comes to "successful" islamisation.

The map itself is extremely weired. I see the points of Sigurd regarding "Greater Bavaria" (they give Regensburg to the Czechs, by the way. You see that? The former capital of Bavaria) , but seriously, this is a very sickening map.

The goal for all the plans, including the Morgenthau Plan, was to assure Germany never resurfaces as anything important. Obviously, this has been a tremendous success.

I'm not so sure, there are wide areas in the South Of France which are very Germanic in all shapes and form, not a Muslim in sight.

was there actually must thinking behind this plan or did he just choose the immediate border nations and split the land up accordingly? I bet if this plan did develop the territory would of been given to which ever country could cough up the most money to the Americans or where in there good books at the time.

What a nightmare of a thought if this tookplace. That said I plan somthing quite similar for Israel.
