To be on time is a reflection of your values. If you come too early or too late, it means you disrespect the time of the person you are supposed to meet. Exceptional situations are tolerable, but not when it becomes regular. If you know there is a lot of traffic at the time you are supposed to get to work and you come late once, you should try to estimate your needed time better the next day.

The culture of my area values punctuality only to the extent that things get done. If you are 5-15 minutes late, it is considered acceptable. If you are consistently more than 15 minutes late, you are considered unreliable, but that doesn't seem to be a big deal to anyone. Personally, I almost always arrive 10-15 minutes early.

It is a sign of politeness to be punctual. It shows the person(s) you meet is/are important to you.
Often I arrive very punctual or 5-10 minutes earlier. But sometimes there is heavy traffic or other things that slow me down. I feel very bad in such situations.

I believe in being on time, because I feel guilty for making people wait. However, I don't get angry when someone else is reasonably late.

Over here you are expected to be on time for meetings. If you come late, it's considered rude, but don't come early either. If you are caught in traffic or you have some other problem, it's best to telephone or let the ones who expect you know somehow.

I don't see how it's always possible to be exactly on time. Generally it should be a goal but I get paranoid and usually come pretty early and if there's time left just simply find something else to do until it's time. I guess this just comes from living in an unreliable world though where you can't have perfect puntuality. It always seems better to be early than late.

I'm not a very punctual person tbh. Folks usually call me half an hour earlier to make sure I come on time.

But there are good new for the late ones:

People Who Are Always Late Are More Successful and Creative

That article describes me well. To be honest, I'm always late, but I get things done very quickly and efficiently once I'm there, so in my view, if you are some type-A employer who wants to fire me because of lateness, you are too stupid to deserve my services.
Most people think as they are trained to think, and most people make a majority.

I think punctuality is vitally important in every respect. My life ticks like a clock. I know how to manage my time, and am only late if circumstances are beyond my control. And I expect the same conscientiousness from those I deal with.
