Thumbs Up Death Traditions and Rites

Just out of common interest, what do you want to happen to your body after you die? I think want to be cremated and my ashes spread in the Vltava river or in the family grave site.

A tomb would be nice, but I suppose I'd make do with a normal burial which is much more realistic
Under no circumstances do I want to be cremated.

You know, I haven't really thought about this yet. I don't think it matters that much to me... but... I think I'd rather have my body cremated, than it being eaten away by worms under the ground

Where will my ashes be spread? Ummm.... donno yet

WHy do people say they would prefer cremation over burial? I mean, having your body burnt to ashes is surely as bad, if not worse, as being eaten by worms?
I really don't know anyway, cremation seems worrying, but burial less so. I, of course, want ''Less than the dust'' written on my headstone, Ah Laurence Hope!

What? You don't want to give back to Mother Nature and help fertilise the land?
I dunno, I don't think being incinerated is any better to be honest

That's a bit profound, mo chara.
Is that a quote from somewhere or a Scathach authentic quote?

BTW. At first glance I thought your new sig was the chorus to "Willie McBride"

"Did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fyfe lowly
Did they sound the Death March, as they lowered you down
Did the band play the Last Post and chorus
And did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest"

I think cremation is cleaner and tidyer You are dead anyway, so you won't feel the flames

Everyone says that Loki, but i tend to wonder..i'm sensitive, what can i say :S

A Mhilesian, I don't actually know where it comes from, i read it many years ago and it's always stuck with me perfectally since then which is quite a sign i suppose.

the sig is from ''When i was on horseback'' The Steeleye Span is the definitive one in my collection atleast.
