    I do worship masculinity and I love my partner, however some people seem to confuse masculinity with chauvinism, arrogance and insulting, snobbish behavior. A man should protect and love and cherish his woman and NOT look down upon her and regard her as an inferior and/or a slave.
    No Disagreement there.

    chauvinism, arrogance and insulting, snobbish behavior, is not the behavior of a mature person ether male or female.

    That is more of a boy than a man.

    I think men are instinctively attracted to softness in women, probably also to certain aspects of perceptiveness in or intuition as you would call it.

    In a marital situations there are times that it pays to listen to your wife's intuitions, especially in situations involving interpersonal situations. So the flip side of Respect/Worship for Masculinity is the Appreciation/Adoration of Femininity.

    Of course it is important to point out that it takes two mature people.

    Yes I'm normally seen as being rather hard and prickly and decidedly assertive if not down right arrogant but when men get to know me in a relationship they are always pleased to see that I do have a soft heart after all, I got called a fluffy kitten the other day

    I'll go back to my point that I've made before, it's all down to public and private, I'll take being ordered around in private to a much greater extent that I will in public. Any guy who tried to dominate in public would find himself alone and bleeding.
    Cattle die, kinsmen die,
    the self must also die;
    but glory never dies,
    For the one who is able to achieve it.

    Sayings of the High One.

    In all honesty, I firmly believe that relationships work best when it's a partnership not hegemony, yes women and men are different, but not unequal.
    There could be subliminal BDSM/fetish subtext to this question that I'm missing though....

    Slave is a loaded word. I think a wife should be submissive towards her husband, father, or brother, and listen to what he says, as he knows better. There is no room for compromise. A healthy relationship can't afford it. A woman's role is to produce children, rear them and tend to her husband.

    Master and slave? That sounds very unsavoury, if I may, and servant sounds peculiar to me, too. I think both spouses are called to serve one another in different capacities. I like what Pope Leo XIII wrote in his 1880 encyclical Arcanum Divinae: "The woman, because she is flesh of his flesh, and bone of his bone, must be subject to her husband and obey him; not, indeed, as a servant, but as a companion, so that her obedience shall be wanting in neither honor nor dignity." If the concepts of obedience and subjection are disconcerting to some, I feel this quote from Pope Pius XI's encyclical Casti Conubii (1930) might be beneficial to read: "Again, this subjection of wife to husband in its degree and manner may vary according to the different conditions of persons, place and time."
    'Well, what are you?" said the Pigeon. "I can see you're trying to invent something!" "I-I'm a little girl," said Alice, rather doubtfully. She found herself at last in a beautiful garden, among the bright flower-beds and the cool fountains.

    We're not two separate people at odds with one another. We're one symbiotic organism, rising or falling together.
