    Hello from Holland :)

    Hello,

My name here is 'Windigo' which is the name of a wolf spirit that comes from the north (an old legend). This also says a lot about me, I am from Europe (The Netherlands) and very much interested in western mythology and old European paganism. Especially Finnish Shamanism has caught my eye. I work as an energy healer and am studying the tarot and runes.
I do think that Europe should not forget it's roots and that we might be better if we returned to them. I do not see myself as a white nationalist, as I do not consider myself superior to others, but I do think there's a reason Westerners are born in the West and Easterners in the East. I think people should stay where they are and not mix all cultures together.
Furtheron, I am 21, live in the middle of the Netherlands and work as an energy healer with my own company. My hobby is also my work, and my interests are Paganism, Debate, Music, Yoga, and Cooking and I am a classical singer. I look forward to speaking with you!

    Kind regards,
    Odette

This struck me as odd too. Usually when someone states an interest in paganism, it's in his/her own ancestral faith.

And ethnonationalism does not mean racial superiority, although it's probably true that people who use the term "white nationalism" interpret it that way.

If only my own ancestors stayed up there. Well, the VOC needed their half-way station.

Why Finnish paganism? I have a fascination for Cro-Magnoid-influenced culture.

What sort of yoga do you practise? I apologise if these questions are too personal.

Do you follow any aspects of ayurveda?

    Welcome to the forum.

I'd say there's nothing against being odd, it's the first letters of my name
Anyway, without the fooling around, I think it needs some clarification. I've only written down a select few practices I do (things I am working with) because if I would write down everything that interests me the introduction would be far from short and interesting
My spiritual practice is oriented around my own roots mostly, I follow the celtic year wheel and live my life as much as my ancestors would.
This is the part I live up to, but I use any technique useful to me, and as far as I know the Tarot is a French invention and it is a myth that it would come from Egypt. At least, that's how I am informed, correct me if I am wrong.

Welcome Windigo/Odette (well, what are we supposed to call you now? I think it might be better to stick with the user name for now though. )! Hope you like it here. If you have any questions as to the board, its running, or any technical issues, feel free to contact myself or another other member of Staff at any time.

I am from Europe (The Netherlands) and very much interested in western mythology and old European paganism. Especially Finnish Shamanism has caught my eye. I work as an energy healer and am studying the tarot and runes.
Why Finnish shamanism if the Germanic peoples had Shamanism of their own? There are several types of shamanic practices reported from past days, including but not restricted to the practices of Seiðr and Spa.

As an excellent introduction into Seiðr, its history, its practice and in fact also related practices (also highly interesting are actually his treatises on shamanism all around the world), I recommend the book Seidways: Shaking - Swaying - Serpent Mysteries by Jan Fries.

I'd be careful about his other books though, he does seem to be a bit of a fluffy bunny. Seidways is an excellent book however and can be read/studied/applied without reservations.

Actually, I've tried a few of the methods and ideas and from experience they tend to work.

Either way, that is not to discredit the Finns, in fact they are a people I respect a lot, and I find their mythology equally fascinating, especially since Finnish Heathenry seems to be one of the few that place an equal importance on the worship of spirits-of-the-land, otherwise mainly witnessed with Germanics and Celtics alone (as far as I know, but I shall stand corrected if anyone will offer information to the contrary). Yet I tell myself --- why look afar if the answers are near?
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)
